佛法僧宝，具体指佛宝、法宝和僧宝，通称为佛教三宝。其中，佛宝指已经圆成佛道的一切诸佛，法宝指诸佛所说的教法，僧宝指依诸佛教法如实修行的出家僧人。此三宝是佛教的象征，也是全部佛教的总纲，所以凡是修学佛法者，必须先皈依三宝。佛教称此三者为宝，极言其珍贵无比，如同世间珍宝一般。此印呈方形，直钮，印面为九叠篆铸刻的"佛法僧宝"四字，文字布局规整匀称。印背左侧铸刻一尊佛像，佛像跏趺端坐，双手合十，周身饰头光和身光，造型风格极具宋代佛像特点，与山西五台山出土北宋"淳化元宝"金币上佛像相似。此印还配有一个斗形印盒，盒内残留有过去使用时留下的红色印泥。值得注意的是，目前所见宋元遗存的佛教三宝印不少，但印背铸有佛像和印章带有印盒的三宝印未曾见到一例，此件印章同时具有这两大稀有特点，其珍贵价值自不待言。The Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha are collectively referred to as the Three Jewels of Buddhism. These three treasures are the symbols of Buddhism and the summary of all Buddhism, so anyone who studies Buddhism must first take refuge in the three treasures. Buddhism calls these three treasures, saying that they are extremely precious, just like the treasures in the world. This seal is square in shape, with a straight button. The surface of the seal is engraved with the four characters of "Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and Treasure" in nine layers of seal script. The layout of the characters is regular and symmetrical. On the left side of the back, there is a Buddha statue, which is sitting cross-legged, holding hands together, and wearing a halo and a body light. The style of the statue is very characteristic of the Buddha statues of the Song Dynasty, similar to the Buddha statue on the "Chunhua Yuanbao" gold coin of the Northern Song Dynasty unearthed in Wutai Mountain, Shanxi. This seal is also equipped with a funnel-shaped seal box, and there is a red seal ink left in the box from previous use. It is worth noting that there are many Buddhist Three Jewels seals from the Song and Yuan dynasties that have been seen so far, but there is no example of a Three Jewels seal with a Buddha image on the back and a seal with an ink box, and this seal has both of these two rare characteristics at the same time, so its precious value is self-evident.
