Although only a fragment, it retains the core characteristics of Dunhuang murals. During restoration, experts often believed that it would be better to preserve it rather than completely repaint it, as the colors are rich yet layered softly, the figures’ expressions are gentle and compassionate, and the lotus-holding posture subtly aligns with the Buddhist concept of 'Pure Land Devotion.' It is not only a tangible example of Tang dynasty mural techniques such as color blending and line drawing but also carries the gene of religious art and the cultural fusion of the Silk Road inherent in the Dunhuang caves — the worn textures are precisely the marks of time, making this piece both aesthetically pleasing and embodying the spiritual essence of Dunhuang art’s 'depicting Buddha through painting.' It is a microcosm of aesthetic and cultural value in Dunhuang’s cultural heritage.
